Love’s to blame

And love was the culprit yet again. Not that we hated the way we felt when we were in love. Not that we never wanted to feel that way again nor was it that those days were better forgotten. No… But we knew. We understood the cost and the price was not worth the cost.

We needed sanity. A way to live our own lives without being overwhelmed by ‘love’. We wanted something that’s ours, within our control. But that option was lost with love around.

Not just any love; this one. It slaps hard, blinds completely and every pain it brings is welcome. It fills us up with feelings that we never knew we could feel. One that was heaven and hell intertwined.

And maybe a bit of both is not so bad any other day. But for this, we had to take a step back because, of course, hell is contagious and its road is paved with good intentions…

So while happiness is promised, pain is also guaranteed. And that, my dearest, is not an option we can afford now.
