This Thing Called Life…

So I was musing a while back and found that….

In the light of love, a sane man could be but a fool and fools they say, rush in
where angels fear to trod. Its a hard thing falling in love. In facts, its a
weakness. But sometimes one needs to be weak in another’s arms 😉 And though it
seems like it steals our sanity and makes us momentarily irrational, it actually is
one of the most important things in life that keeps us together and saves our humanity.

However, some people consider certain things to be more important than falling in
love. Why? Because it’s a distraction and while vulnerability may be helpful,
distraction could be as deadly. Dreams , ambitions, ideas…could be murdered
because of distraction, the same way love could grant clarity, inspiration and
serve as a muse to another…

…In reality, we are all fucked.

Lessons from Life 2

Life may give me similar memories from different experiences, but from each I’ve learnt a unique lesson and these lessons are priceless. Like Paul said the the Bible, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child…”. But I learnt as life’s student. Then I became a bigger child – a teenager and I thought I was a grown up. I became arrogant, I knew more than everyone, even the so-called grown ups and no one understood the things I was going through – at least that’s what i thought. I claimed things had changed from what the grown ups used to know, that it was a new world, our world! and they had no idea how things are done in it… Boy, was I naïve!

Hiatus

Distance and time are two things that could make or mar you. Distance, they say, makes the heart grow fonder. Also, some say, out of sight, out of mind.
Time heals all wounds.
These three are some common saying about time and distance.

Some times, you just need time to clear your head, to get yourself in order, to figure out where you are and find a way forward.
And to do that, some times you need space. You need to put a wide gap between you and whatever it is that got you tied up in a bunch in the first place, between you and that overwhelming thing; your job or a person or your kind of lifestyle.

Sincerely, Life

Life is a mystery no one can fully understand. I’ve come to learn, a lesson not easily learnt, that life is the best teacher…yes, life! No one teaches a better lesson than life.. On faith, on morals, on love, even when you are not ready to learn, she teaches still, till you reach that stage when you understand why…or other times when you never know. The Cost

A screeching halt
Reflecting and re-evaluating
Taking stock of what is left and what you’ve lost
Counting the cost of what you’ve gained,
Was it worth it? Is this all you get?

Today, you’re alive uncertain of the future
Today, you carry your cross, the cross you gained along the way
You wonder which loss was worth the cross…
The exchange!
The substitute for something better,
Or so you’d thought.
But was it worth it? Continue reading “The Cost”

The Weekend Plan

A thought kept buzzing in my mind as I closed for work that Friday evening.  The thought of a romantic weekend with my lady. I hastily packed my bag, placing my laptop upside down – I never do that! And humming Don Williams’ Shelter of Your Eyes with a bright smile on my face. She should almost be home now, if not already. Moyin likes to surprise me, or so she thinks, whenever she visits. But the way her face lights up when I feign surprise gives me a kind of happiness that makes me want to keep that smile on her forever. It has been five months since she last visited. So, you can imagine my excitement when she called me in the evening of Wednesday to tell me that she was coming in two days. Of course that meant a romantic dinner, crazy cuddling; we would stare at the night’s sky in each other’s arms giggling like kids, and I would not bother to tell you about the sex, other than it always left us breathless and satisfied.
