I think one of the major problems in relationships is when two individuals think they have to become one person. In that, they come to believe that because they are in love, they and their partner have to have one of everything (likes, hobbies, preferences).

Just Be Yourself
“Just be yourself.”
This is perhaps the vaguest advice to give anyone trying to fit in anywhere.
Why?
Because most people don’t know who they are.
They sure have this idea of who they think they are, but it’s not grounded on any intrinsic value or personal belief and principles. It is rather inherited from societal norms and widely accepted biases.
