It will rain!
Here comes the cloud, pregnant with abundance of rain
the long awaited rain
the dryness has gone on for so long…
the season of drought and thirst will soon end
as the day turns dark with the overhead
mass of gathered water. Continue reading “The Rain”

Don’t Give Up
A friend once sent this to me…
When things go wrong as
They sometimes will
When the road you are trudging
seems uphill
wen the funds are low and
debts are high Continue reading “Don’t Give Up”
The Struggle
There is a burden
A load to be carried
A war to be won
A mountain to be climbed
A test to be passed
A need to be met
Its an enigma…
Daily we go about
Talking cheerfully
With smiles on our faces
But behind those smiles are tired eyes
within those tired eyes is a struggle
A fight for survival Continue reading “The Struggle”
My Best Friend
He is my strength when I’m weak
He is my health when I fall sick
He cheers me up when I’m bored
I’m happy He is my Lord.
He is my bread when I’m hungry
He makes me laugh, oh yes, he’s funny
When I’m down he lifts me up
I have no other, he is my all.
He holds my hand and walks with me
When I pray, he grants my needs
When the whirlwind comes as a shock,
He hides me in the cleft of the rock.
He loves me, this I know,
Coz he tells me I’m his own
To me, he is more than a friend
That’s why I call him ‘My Best friend’.
Old Age
He lives in a lonely part of town
where the silence is deafening
His weary bones he gently lay
beneath the old oak tree
His sunken eyes, oh, what mystery lies beneath them;
They’ve seen wars and death
Times of famine and drought
Days when poverty and depression
Sucks life like death itself
Those scrawny legs, oh, where they’ve been
in the thickets and forests and rugged mountainsides,
In times of war, when resting was not an option
Those tired legs kept trudging on.
Those old ears, though tiny they seem
have heard from wise and fools alike
silently listening and learning from young and old
Life takes it all from you;
in your happiest moment
It makes you blue,
As if that is not enough,
Death teases you in your loneliness
before it takes the only thing life left you with
life itself.
The Dawn of A Change
Living the life everyone wants for me
Blindly following instructions that ain’t real
Walking paths already picked out for me
But I wanted to be me,
I wanted to be real…
Going the way of the Lord
Cos I never knew any other
You tried to teach me to be a leader,
The best among peers
Tried to teach me to grow up
and let change take over Continue reading “The Dawn of A Change”
