Dreams and Sticky Notes

He had gone to bed fagged out hoping he wouldn’t have to get up any time before 9 the next morning – and under normal circumstances, since it was a Saturday, he really should have been able to sleep in.

But he was too tired that he forgot to turn off his alarm set for 7 am which he had set so as to complete a pending project.

When the high pitched ringing went off, he was pulled out of a very pleasant dream. It took him a minute to remember where he was and finding himself alone in bed made him a bit sad.

Memories Never Fade…

We never really move away from an old life, we just suppress it to entertain and make space for the new one. Sometimes, the new becomes so comfortable that we begin to forget what the old life looks and feels like; we suppress it into oblivion.

But the truly interesting part is that, we never truly forget because we never really moved on in the first place.

The Cost

A screeching halt
Reflecting and re-evaluating
Taking stock of what is left and what you’ve lost
Counting the cost of what you’ve gained,
Was it worth it? Is this all you get?

Today, you’re alive uncertain of the future
Today, you carry your cross, the cross you gained along the way
You wonder which loss was worth the cross…
The exchange!
The substitute for something better,
Or so you’d thought.
